Term 3 commences Saturday 11th of January 2020 and runs for 6 weeks. Cost €55 payable on the first day of the term.
Our mini sessions focus primarily on developing basic fundamental movement skills in tandem with hockey ball carrying techniques. The aim is to allow the children to master basic skills, build confidence and learn in a fun and encouraging environment. Parental support may be required during initial sessions. Our mini players learn how to hold a stick, dribble a ball and shoot, while developing physical attributes such as balance, agility and coordination. Children also learn through colour recognition, turn taking and counting.
Midi sessions focus on improving basic hockey techniques learned at the mini stage, while also progressing overall physical development. The focus is on allowing players to progress their ball carrying skills in different positions, develop passing and receiving techniques and increase their speed and agility. The players learn important social skills such as leadership and teamwork through fun exercises and gameplay.
The Maxi sessions are designed to allow children to significantly progress their hockey skills through small sided games and challenging exercises while retaining an emphasis on athletic ability. At this stage, children will have mastered many of the basic hockey techniques and can explore more advanced skills such as lifting the ball and passing and receiving at pace. Our aim is to ensure that the children have an excellent foundation in physical literacy and hockey basics as they are moving toward club hockey.
